Sicklerville, New Jersey - Teeterbird, an indie game startup, has recently released a unique mobile game which combines spelling with RPG elements that will appeal to users of all age groups. Founded by Dan Wahl, a professional software engineer with over 10 years of game development experience, the game integrates a highly engaging interface with interesting RPG elements, ensuring a fun experience for plyers.
The game is comprised of successive levels of increasing complexity. The player must use the available letters to spell as many words as possible to defeat the monsters. Defeating the monster in each level allows the player to move on to the next level and battle new and increasingly difficult monsters.
Each level is associated with a specific monster that can be killed by forming hidden words using the tiles at the bottom of the screen. Every correct answer damages the monster slowly, defeating it once the player has spelled all the words correctly. The game includes 20 unique monster types, and each level offers more and more possible words to spell.
"I've always liked playing casual spelling games on my phone and thought it would be cool to put a twist on the genre," says Dan Wahl, founder of Teeterbird. "I really liked the idea of spelling words correctly to fight against RPG enemies and having to do it quickly to avoid being attacked by the monster. There are plenty of spelling games that let you take your time spelling out words, but adding in a battle mechanic adds a whole new level of challenge and tension. From there it just seemed like a no brainer to put in attributes and leveling to tie it into more of an RPG world. Hopefully this will allow the game to appeal to casual spelling game fans and RPG fans alike."
The game is unique and includes over 300 levels of increasing complexity. It starts with simple words built from three letter level and slowly moves up to complex words built from six letter levels. Players must spell quickly, and correctly, or risk being slain by monsters. Players level up as they progress to give them a fighting chance of beating the increasingly difficult monsters.
